About RubyCorner

Who we are ?
We are two internet entrepreneurs going deep into the Ruby and Rails world. We are seeking simplicity and elegance of the code we write. As all programmers we don’t like programming itself. What we do like is solving problems and thinking creative.
What do we fight for ?
We see the ever growing popularity of the Ruby language and it’s famous framework Rails. However it requires tremendous amount of time finding the needed article to read up. As one of the few sites out there for Ruby and Rails resources and tutorials our goal is to offer our readers a place where they can find valuable information. We want to be a central point for lots of Rails developers. We don’t stress much on the Ruby language itself but more on the framework (Ruby on Rails). Also we believe that software should be fun to do and Rails gives us back that fun.
About us
Yavor Ivanov: Hi! I am one of the founders of RUBYCORNER.NET. I was a PHP developer who was forced to program “old school”
meaning procedural style without anything like CRUD or MVC and so on… after quiting my job I finally got time to look around once again and decide to develop as I think it was right. Not following the company politics was such an astonishment for me that I searched again easy ways to develop and deploy software.
After I found Rails I was so astonished of it’s beauty that I never did wrote a single line of code in an other language or with any other framework except when forced to do so for a leaving. I live in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. I study Aviation Technologies at the Technical University of Sofia but I don’t believe I will fly my own JumboJet in the air in the near future

Stanislav Bozhkov: Hello! I am a young internet entrepreneur and live in the capital of a great and beautiful country - Bulgaria. I study “Computer Science and Technologies” in the Technical University of Sofia. I really don’t believe in education in schools and universities that’s why I give lots of my free time for reading and studding in front of my PC. I first got an own computer in 2002 and after that I started dealing with Internet Technologies. I have an experience of System Administrator of about 4 years. So I’m deploying and supporting IT systems as well as developing enterprise applications for the company I work for. I’ve been programming in Java for about 2 years, however as soon as I discovered Ruby on Rails I didn’t have more desire to deal with Java professionally. Now, I’m concentrating myself in Internet based business and web technologies, so Ruby on Rails has become my best friend.

But there already is a rubycorner.com… why did you take their name?

We didn’t actually took their name. We took the name because we try to be the one stop corner for Ruby and Rails resources. We provide Ruby information on our site (tutorials, news, articles …) while the other web site is a web directory and provide links to web sites like ours. That is a huge difference.
